Lemons to Lemonade

This off-season there has been a lot of arguing back and forth about who the Fire need to add. I am just as guilty, if not more, than anyone else. Maybe at this point we should agree to disagree. But I think we can all agree on one thing. Chicago has probably got one of the most potent mid-fields in the league.
It appears as if 4-4-2 might just not fit the pieces we have here. So maybe we need to look at something different. The Fire are not the only team in the world with this problem. Teams like Napoli , from Serie A in Italy, have a midfield stacked with talented ball handlers and a speedy striker too. Their answer was a 3-4-2-1.  Don't worry this is not a CDLC 4-1-4-1, but more of a possession formation to feed balls up and take shots from the top of the box.

With a formation like this we could stack our midfield with all of our talent. The variations could be endless. I see this as a solution to the roster problems that we have right now. This type of formation could baffle defenses in this league. Anyone who watched Napoli play Chelsea saw that. I guess when life gives you lemons you make lemonade. Or try a new formation anyway.
