Michael Ballack

According to reports, Michael Ballack is in negotiations with the MLS. MLS executive Todd Durbin, who opened talks with the Bayer Leverkusen star, listed five teams that are interested in bringing the him in. Chicago was included with New York, Seattle, Philly, and Montreal. "It is now down to who can afford him." He is looking for a two year deal with an annual salary close to Henry or Beckham amounts.
I really can't figure out why the Fire would be on this list. Wasn't it just a couple weeks ago that Frank Klopas ruled out a move for Ballack? He is a very talented player and is sure to be a star in this league. With the depth that the Fire already have in the middle do they really need to commit that kind of money for another mid? Hopefully this one is just a rumor. I will keep digging and see what comes up.
