Opening day matchups for the MLS.
-Vancouver - Montreal (5pm cst - TSN, MLS Live) This is sure to be an entertaining match to watch just for the BC - Quebec rivalry, if not the play on the field. Curios to see the Impact in the regular season and see how they can hold up to the pressure. Vancouver just looks a little bit too stacked for Jesse Marsch to handle though. The "French Connection" up top, along with the home crowd, will just be too much for Montreal to handle. Caps 3 - Impact 1
-Colorado - Columbus (5pm cst - MLS Live) Meeting each other in the playoffs over the last two years, the Rapids and Crew renew this rivalry for the 2012 season tonight. Having been knocked out of the playoffs the past two years by Colorado, Columbus is sure to be pumped for tonight's match up. But the Rapids, with new coach Oscar Pareja, will be ready to handle the challenge. Rapids 1 - Crew 1
-DC - Kansas City (6:30pm cst - CSN-MA+, KSMO, MLS Live) United comes into the game with a stacked squad this year. Sporting seems to be the go to pick for most of the pundits for the season. This match is surely going to answer alot of questions that everyone has been asking all off season for both teams. As good as I think KC should be this year, I can't see them overcoming the offensive prowess of DC. United 3 - Sporting 2
-San Jose - New England (9:30pm cst - CSN-CA, CSN-NE, MLS Live) I have a hard time getting excited about either of these teams for the 2012 season. It will be interesting to see how Lee Nguyen (if he makes it into the game) and Shalrie Joseph work together. San Jose's crowd should be back for this season with the excitement of a new stadium. Better make a pot of coffee for this one. Quakes 0 - Revs 0
-LA - RSL (9:30pm cst - KDOC/KWHY, KTVX, MLS Live) The Galaxy not only brought back the championship team from last year, but also added a new scoring option with Edson Buddle. Jason Kreis brings in his team ready to deliver payback from last years playoffs. With this weeks upcoming CCL game will Bruce Arena play his whole first team? That is the real question for tonight. I would imagine with the importance of winning the Champions League he won't. That being said this should be just the chance that Real will need to not only get three points, but also start the season on the right foot. Galaxy 1 - Real 2
