Feb 22 Update

-Carolina Challenge Cup kicks off this weekend. Chicago will be facing DC United (Feb25), Columbus Crew (Feb29), and Charleston Battery (March3). All of these matches will have a streaming broadcast at chicago-fire.com.

-Today we got two UEFA Champions League matches. Yesterday I think I got pretty lucky with my predictions. I will see if I can make it two days in a row.
Basel v Bayern Munich  This year I am picking Bayern to go all the way. I really think they will be to much for Basel to handle.  Basel 0 - Bayern 3
Marseille v Inter Milan  Most years I would pick Inter to walk over Marseille. This year Inter have failed to impress. Marseille have not been on the best form as of late either. I will take Marseille just cause they aer at home.  Marseille 2 - Inter 1

- Amadou Sanyang has been announced to be on trial with the Chicago Fire. If you are not familiar with Sanyang. He is a very promising 20 year old midfield/defender who played for Toronto FC in 2009 and 2010. He was with Seattle last year and made limited appearances. He has been pursued by european squads and has nowhere to go but up. I would imagine that if we are able to get him it would require us giving a substantial return to the Sounders.

-With Kahn being released that leaves the Italian Paolo Tornaghi as the third goalie left at camp. The 23 year-old spent his youth career at Inter and the past three years in the Italian lower divisions.

-Keeping it on trialing players this year. How has Rodrigo Inigo been flying under the radar this whole time. The Club America defender has been here on trial this preseason. He is a big bodied back with excellent tackling skills and good in the air. The idea that Klopas was able to pick up Inigo for free on trial is a pretty solid pickup  for Klopas. He will make a solid backup or could certainly challenge for a place in the starting eleven.
