I call it soccer. Others call it football, futbol, or fussball. To some this is just a game. To me it is so much more.
Maybe it is the way that when I support my team all my worries disappear. There are no bills, jobs, or any other of my life's stresses. There is my club and my passion working together for a common goal. Put a ball in the net.
Or maybe it is just that. The simplicity of the game. Kick a ball into a net. Nowadays we are so busy and life is so complex the simplest of ideas are the most perfect.
Whatever "it" is, gives me salvation. It helps me to get up on the hardest of days. It helps me to overcome the hardest obstacles life can throw at me. It is the hope of another win. Or the comradery of me and my fellow supporters, whether we celebrate or commiserate.
So to you maybe it is just a game, but to me it is so much more.
