-Last night the San Jose building commission voted 6-0 to deny an appeal against the construction of a soccer specific stadium. This means the earthquakes can finally get going on their $60 million dollar 18,000 seat stadium. Congrats. Finally San Jose can have a proper stadium to play at. This is good for the team, fans, and the MLS as a whole.
-Also last night La Galaxy played New England Revs on mlssoccer.com . Followed by Red Bull v RSL. This was the first time I got to see an MLS match this year. Here is a link to the schedule of preseason games with broadcast schedule. http://www.mlssoccer.com/preseason/2012/schedule
The only problem is this. I was under the impression that the Fire games at the Carolina Challenge Cup were going to be broadcast. According to this schedule that is not the fact. Hopefully I can get an answer to this today.
-If you need an MLS fix, tonight you can catch Pumas UNAM v New York Red Bulls on ESPN3 @ 8:55 pm.
-Congratulations to Basel. That might have been one of the best defensive performances I have seen in years. The Swiss team was able to beat Bayern Munich 1-0 in UEFA Champions league play. Marseille defeated Inter 1-0.
-Fire released Ivan Guerroro and Rodrigo Inigo has returned back to Mexico.Makes you say Hmmm?
-I have a pair of first row tickets in the cornerkick section for Apr 15th game against Houston Dynamo to the 500th follower on twitter. @olearyscowfc
