Impact v Fire Game Review

Many bloggers and reporters are going to give you a blow by blow of what happened today and their opinions on the play. Either I am too lazy, or just don't feel like wasting my and your time with a play by play. Chances are you either watched the game or have already read about the game. So instead here is my opinion on the play and the game as I saw it today.
To start with it was cool to see such a large crowd at a game. Maybe I have just gotten used to the new soccer specific stadiums, but to watch a game in a giant baseball stadium just seems dated and tired at this point. The Fire came out today and played exactly as I thought they would. Soft. Chicago seemed to have nobody, other than Oduro, who cared about scoring. If we do not get someone on the offensive side of the ball who is attack-minded, to pair up with Dom, this is going to be a long low-scoring season.
On the other side of the ball the play was not much better. The one goal we gave up today Anibaba was ten feet out of position and the scorer came in unchallenged. Also I realized how thin we were when people started going down with knocks and I didn't know who was coming in to replace them. We need to get Arne in the rotation badly.
In the middle of the field the play seemed to be a little better today. But Pause looked lost on the offensive side and Pappa didn't seem to have his touch today. Grazzini did have a wonderful ball into Oduro (gotta give cred where it is due).
I am going to give the team a mulligan today. This performance was sub par on all fronts. We should not have left Montreal without three points. The pieces are there and if they are played properly this team could see alot of success this year. But if Chicago is not able to get it together early on this year expect to see a catastrophic implosion. The biggest thing I noticed is how incredibly thin our bench is. Overall terrible looking today. I hope I am not the only one who felt this way.

My grades for the match
